Pakistan’s volleyball team made history on Monday by defeating Qatar in straight sets to reach the final of the 2025 Asian Volleyball Nations Cup in Bahrain. The semifinal match was played in Manama, where Pakistan showed complete control with set scores of 25-22, 25-22, and 25-21.
This win is especially important as it helped Pakistan take revenge for last year’s loss against Qatar in the AVC Challenge Cup final. Pakistan played with confidence, teamwork, and strong strategy from the very first point. The players kept the pressure on Qatar throughout the match.
Key performances came from Usman Faryad Ali, Murad Jehan, Murad Khan, and Fahad Raza, who all played vital roles in blocking, spiking, and setting. The team’s coordination and mental strength were clearly visible.
With this result, Pakistan has not only reached the AVC Nations Cup final but also proved itself as a rising force in Asian volleyball. Pakistan Volleyball Federation Chairman Ch. Muhammad Yaqoob praised the team, saying the players showed great discipline and heart. He encouraged the whole nation to support the team as they aim for victory in the final.
Chairman Ch. Muhammad Yaqoob congratulated the team and called the win a proud moment for the country. “Beating a strong team like Qatar in straight sets is not an easy task. Our boys played with heart and discipline. I request the whole nation to pray for the team and support them in the final,” he said.
This victory also brings Pakistan closer to qualifying for bigger events like the 2026 Asian Volleyball Championship and possibly the 2028 Olympic Games. The team’s recent improvement shows how far Pakistan volleyball has come under the leadership of the Pakistan Volleyball Federation.
